GENERAL

Classes open to amateur handlers only. Only horses properly nominated through the Silver Sire Futurity Program are eligible for the above classes. Horse eligibility can be verified through Ed Evans at (775) 882-1573.

STALLS ~

If your horse is entered in the Region III Show and has paid for a stall, no additional stall fee is due for your horse for the Silver Sire show. If your horse is not entered in the Region III Show, you must pay for your stall with your Silver Sire entries. If your horse is to be stalled with a trainer, an extra stall must be ordered through Region III using their entry form. There is a $25 trailer-in fee if no stall is required. All stall fees collected by Silver Sire will be paid to Region III.

MEMBERSHIP

To show at the annual show the horse owner must be a member of the Silver Sire Breeders, Inc. The Membership fee is $20 per year.

HALTER REQUIREMENTS

Silver Sire will be using the Arabian Breeders Worldcup Scoring System™ ("ABWSS) to evaluate all entries. Individual scores will be awarded by each officiating judge using the ABWSS and the corresponding score card (Score Card). A score of 1-20 will be awarded for each entry in the following six categories:

(1) Arabian Type (3) Neck and Shoulder (5) Feet and Legs
(2) Head (4) Body & Topline (6) Movement

These scores will be "unweighted" with a total of 120 possible points per judge. The tabulated scores of each judge will then be added together for the total entry score from a total of 240 possible points. The horse receiving the highest point score in each class will be declared the class winner. The horse receiving the second highest point score will be declared the second place winner, and so on. In the case of a tie, the horse awarded the higher points for TYPE shall be declared the winner. Should the points for TYPE be the same, the horse receiving the higher points for MOVEMENT shall be declared the winner. Should the horses further prove to be tied in points for both TYPE and MOVEMENT, the horse receiving the higher total score from the designated Call Judge in that class shall be deemed the winner.

CLASS CONDUCT

  1. All horses to be shown collectively at the beginning of each class. Horses shall enter the ring at a trot in a clockwise direction in chronological age order (according to date of birth) from oldest to youngest. Horses to circle clockwise at a controlled walk around the entire circumference of the ring until directed to exit by ring steward. All entries must remain in the designated warm-up/holding area throughout the entire class.
  2. Each entry shall then be exhibited and evaluated individually. Horse to enter ring and trot around the circumference of the ring in a clockwise direction to point B as shown on the diagram (see below).  At point B, the horse shall be walked away from the judges to point C and walked back to the judges (point D), where the horse will be presented for evaluation by the judging panel in a controlled, yet uninhibited and unintimidated manner. Horse shall stand squarely on all four legs and shall be shown with natural elegance and professionalism.  After presentation, the horse and handler shall exit the ring at the walk.Following formal presentation, each entry shall walk in a straight line from point A to point D and back to point A the judges as directed by the ring steward.
  3. Each entry shall trot in hand as indicated in the Breeding & In-Hand Class Conduct Diagram (see below). Horses shall be encouraged to move with elegance, impulsion and charismatic animation at the trot, exhibiting authentic Arabian type around the entire circumference of the ring.
  4. Upon completion of (d) above, horses may be stood-up for final inspection by the judges at point D.
  5. Horse and handler to be excused from the ring at the formal request of the ring steward. Horses are to exit ring trotting toward the exit. Handlers are requested to use extreme caution when exiting as to not inhibit the performance of any successive entry.
  6. Those horses receiving the two highest point scores tabulated according to the ABWCSS will be called back into the ring in reverse order (5th place to 1st place) for the awarding of prizes immediately following each class.
  7. Only one handler per exhibit is permitted in the ring at any one time. Handlers may present more than one exhibit per class, provided that there is a capable handler for each horse during the initial group judging and during the awards presentation.
  8. Handlers will be neatly dressed. Handlers may not wear any articles of clothing carrying any form of advertising which discloses the identification/connection of the horse they are handling or the farm, training stable or corporate sponsor represented.
  9. Judges are required to judge exhibits standing, walking, and trotting.
  10. Exhibits which appear late (missing the walk around the ring) will be excluded from the class.
  11. Unruly horses may be ordered to withdraw at the discretion of the judge(s).
  12. Any horse becoming loose a second time will be disqualified.
  13. No announcement indicating the identity, breeding, or past performance of exhibits, or the identity of their owners will be made during judging. It is, however, permissible for the information to be given out after the scores have been announced for each exhibit.

ATTIRE

Normal halter handling attire is recommended. Aloha shirts with dark slacks will be included as normal halter attire for the Silver Sire Show.
